The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), formerly known as the (Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association (HBIGDA), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, interdisciplinary professional and educational organization devoted to transgender health. Our professional, supporting, and student members engage in clinical and academic research to develop evidence-based medicine and strive to promote a high quality of care for transsexual, transgender, and gender-nonconforming individuals internationally. We are funded primarily through the support of our membership, and through donations and grants sponsored by non-commercial sources. Mission: To promote evidence based care, education, research, public policy, and respect in transgender health. Vision: We envision a world wherein people of all gender identities and gender expressions have access to evidence-based healthcare, social services, justice and equality. Goals and Tasks As an international interdisciplinary, professional organization, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) will work to further the understanding and treatment of gender dysphoria by professionals in medicine, psychology, law, social work, counseling, psychotherapy, family studies, sociology, anthropology, sexology, speech and voice therapy, and other related fields. WPATH provides opportunities for professionals from various sub-specialties to communicate with each other in the context of research and treatment of gender dysphoria including sponsoring biennial scientific symposia. WPATH publishes the Standards of Care and Ethical Guidelines, which articulate a professional consensus about the psychiatric, psychological, medical, and surgical management of gender dysphoria and help professionals understand the parameters within which they may offer assistance to those with these conditions.

"The mission of Gateway Housing First, Inc. is to provide safe, high-quality, affordable, supportive housing to individuals and families challenged by a wide range of disabilities, complex disorders and life situations who are often impacted by chronic homelessness, generational poverty, trauma and systemic racism. We own and develop permanent supportive housing units across St. Louis City and County, some of which has 24 hour behavioral health supports while others are more independent. We also administer a few rental assistance programs through the Continuum of Care. However all referrals for these programs must go through Coordinated Entry."

Ignite Hope offers mental and behavioral health services, particularly after traumatic events. They have multiple specialized programs to help community members heal from various incidents. Program Overview Ignite Hope operates evidence-based outreach behavioral healthcare services to people with specific and/or specialized needs. The program is partnered with the City of St. Louis and provides participants individual and group therapy, case management, and referral services through specialized programs. Their specialized programs are broad in impact, with some focusing on young children, older adults, LGBTQIA+ folks, Black communities, people healing from the impact of suicide, and losses due to gun violence & COVID-19. The program is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The program is operated by [Ignite Hope](https://www.ignite-hope.com/) Program Eligibility Individuals wishing to utilize services must: Be a resident of the City of St. Louis Have an identified mental health diagnosis or identified trauma as determined by a psychosocial assessment completed from a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). Resident requiring immediate hospitalization due to imminent harm to self or others as determined by assessment completed by a qualified mental health professional (QMHP) will not be eligible for services. Audrey Culberson BSW, was hired this month to assist Maplewood and Richmond Heights community members in need. This new position will serve both cities and is the second of its kind in St. Louis County. In her past roles, Ms. Culberson has provided services for organizations such as Lutheran Senior Services, BJC Behavioral Health, and the Special School District of St. Louis County. She brings her expertise with elder care, mental health, and adolescent behavioral health support to our community. She graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a degree in Social Work and is currently working on her master’s degree at Saint Louis University with a concentration in Clinical Studies. Since Ms. Culberson began Monday, October 10, 2022, she is taking time to familiarize herself with our communities and further define the goals and mission of this new position, and is excited to take on this new role supporting the cities of Maplewood and Richmond Heights. Both City Managers, Michael Reese and Amy Hamilton, stated they are thrilled to have her join their teams!
