Description
Founded in 2016, Welcome Neighbor STL has over 4,000 supporters and has helped more than 600 refugees from 11 countries. Their mission is to support refugee and immigrant families by connecting them with new people and opportunities that will empower them to build and live their best life in St. Louis.
Some services include:
- English language learning
- organizing supper clubs/catering events
- driving lessons
- citizenship classes
- family outings
- holiday gatherings
- COVID-19 vaccine appointments
They host several programs such as family partnering, supper clubs, mother support groups, and fundraising events. In addition, after establishing roots in the community, refugees and immigrants take part in a giveback program providing meals for the unhoused, helping to lift people up while giving back and serving the St. Louis community.
