9.1 Addictive Behavior & Substance Use
A nonprofit health care organization that provides a full continuum of behavioral, primary, and dental health services throughout 43 counties in Missouri. Check their website to find the location closest to you. Services: Primary care, dental, and behavioral health services are offered on a sliding scale and free for some. Casework services are available to individuals who need more support and have active Medicaid. Word on the Street: SQSH Volunteer Jaxsen Ball worked here. Jaxsen’s Input: “If you find anyone in the community that lives outside of St. Louis and is in need of mental health services, it is a great resource. The organization is definitely __queer-allied__. All providers I've met have seemed to be good allies, with the exception of one individual I work directly with, which I feel has been handled properly by my supervisor. It would definitely be appropriate to request an experienced and strongly-allied provider just to best advocate for each individual's needs, but I don't forsee conflict in receiving appropriate and affirming services. If there was any, I'd personally want to know so I could bring it to my superiors, or at least provide you and SQSH with contact info in the event someone did not feel they received affirming services.”
