Description

Fees: $2.50 pickup and $2.00 per mile, $1.00 for each additional passenger.

The St. Louis American Cab Company was founded in 1949 by N.A. Sweets and his wife, Melba Sweets Mr. Sweets wanted arriving railroad passengers at St. Louis' beautiful Union Station to be greeted by clean, good looking taxicabs with courteous drivers handing passengers the best looking community newspaper available to them as they rode safely to their destination. The St. Louis American Cab Company management insisted on top-notch customer service then, and that tradition continues today. We strive to deliver courteous, dependable and most important, SAFE transport to citizens of and visitors to the St. Louis region. The legacy of Nathaniel Sr. and Melba Sweets lives on as the company is now owned by their three children, Nathaniel Sweets, Jr., Ellen Sweets, and Fred, who serves as President and CEO. One granddaughter, Alecia, is a cab owner and another granddaughter, Nikki, serves as Executive Administrator.
